2011年12月14日，國家標準計劃《石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵》（20111052-T-604）下達，項目周期12個月，由TC211（全國泵標準化技術委員會）歸口上報及執行，主管部門為。全國標準信息公共服務平臺顯示，該計劃已完成網上公示、起草、征求意見、審查、批準、發布工作。[3]
2017年9月29日，國家標準《石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵》（GB/T 34391-2017）由中華人民共和國、中國發布。[2]
2018年4月1日，國家標準《石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵》（GB/T 34391-2017）實施。[1]
石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵制定依據
國家標準《石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵》（GB/T 34391-2017）依據中國國家標準《標準化工作導則—第1部分：標準的結構和編寫規則》（GB/T 1.1-2009）規則起草。[2] 該標準使用翻譯法等同采用ISO 13710:2004《石油、石化和天然氣工業往復式容積泵》（英文）。[2]

《石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵》（GB/T 34391-2017）規定了石油、石化和天然氣工業中使用的往復式泵和泵機組，適用于直動式和機動式兩種形式。該標準不適用于計量泵和旋轉式泵注：計量泵查閱 API Std 675；旋轉式泵查閱 API Std 676。[2]

石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵實施建議
中國國內生產企業在使用該標準時，應著重參考其在可靠性方面的指導，對該標準中的安全系數、限制條件應充分重視，但不應只拘泥于表面，不要刻板的套用，而是根據用戶的準確需求和現場實際安裝條件，合理制定應用方案，真正能保證運行中的往復泵機組安全可靠。[4]
石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵意義價值
《石油、石化和天然氣工業用往復泵》（GB/T 34391-2017）方便中國國內生產企業和用戶的使用，便于制造廠在國內生產往復泵過程中購買原材料；為中國的國家標準與國際化接軌，為中國國家標準逐漸走向國際舞臺做一些前瞻性的工作。該標準使中國國內更多往復泵生產企業和用戶了解中國以外產品的要求和使用法規，通過對比和借鑒，揚長補短，促進國內往復泵質量和服務與國際接軌，擴大產品和服務的出口；另外也促進中國國內標準在制修訂過程中借鑒國際標準，促進中國國內往復泵技術整體質量水平提高。[4]
